Sensors
While our bots have three sensor inputs,
we are currently only using two:
- 1 rotation sensor
- 1 touch sensor (for more on our
custom built bumpers, all wired to one input, click
here)
Any other sensors can be attached such as
a light sensor.
The rotation sensor is mounted on a
simple base constructed from the following pieces:
- 1 (8) rod
- 3 grey caps
- 4 spacers
- 1 special axial mounting plate (2x2)
- 1 (4) rod
- 1 little wheel
Directions:
- Insert the 4 rod through the
rotation sensor. Looking at the sensor from the top, with the
connecting wire facing away from you, the wheel will go on the right.
- Place the wheel onto the 4
rod, so that it rests against the right side of the rotation sensor.
- Put a spacer on both ends of
the rod, securing the wheel to the rod.
- Take the 8 rod and put 2 caps
on the right side.
- Push a spacer from the left
over to the right against the two caps.
- Slide the rod through the
axial mounth so that the spacer and two caps are to its right.
- Place a cap to the left of the
axial mount, securing it in place.
- Then place a spacer on the
left side, next to the cap.
- Attach the axial mount to the
end of the rotation sensor without the wheel.
- This rotation sensor piece is
attached to the driving base.
