Bumper Parts

Our custom made bumpers have both Lego and non Lego parts. The custom parts require modifying existing lego pieces. We used non-Lego micro switches as touch sensors, fitted with custom wired resistors.  Back and front bumpers differ only in the strength of the resistors they contain, or as otherwise noted.

The Lego parts need for one bumper are as follows:

•  2 yellow arms
•  2 black arms
• 2 lighthouses
• 2 black minirods
• 2 black joints
• 2 grey joints
• 4 grey rodjoints
• 1 purple tube
• 2 (2x8) beam plates (grey)
• 1 black beam size (1x12) with two areas cut out (see next pg)
• 2 (2x2) green tiles (blue for rear bumper)
• 2 (2x2) grey tiles
• 2 yellow roof tiles (cut) (rear bumper contains (2x2) blocks, slightly modified) 
• 2 micro- switches fitted with appropriate resistors
