Two things to do:
- Read the following information.
- Fill and return the REGISTRATION
FORM by 7 September.

Resorts/Villas de Santa Fe, a very nice all-suites hotel near downtown
Santa Fe located at 400 Griffin Street, (505) 988-3000 phone,

SUPPORT
- If funding is not available to you from other sources, the

between your home and Santa Fe, mileage or parking at your point
of departure, $50 toward ground transportation between Albuquerque
and Santa Fe, and your lodging.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
- We expect that you will handle your own air and surface travel
arrangements. Please plan your trip to take advantage of the lowest
coach fares available to you and the Saturday night stayover. You will
be reimbursed for your expenses based upon original receipts after the
workshop. Please keep your travel receipts for reimbursement purposes.
Reimbursement forms will be handed out at the workshop.
- Please note that the largest hot air balloon festival in the
world takes place in Albuquerque on the weekends of 3-4 October and
10-11 October. It's a fabulous, very well-attended event, and therefore
airline tickets into Albuquerqe and rental cars are scarce at this
point. Please take care of your reservations quickly. (For more
information about the festival, see
http://www.aibf.org/.
TRAVELLING TO SANTA FE
-
Air: The major airport connection to Santa Fe is Albuquerque,
New Mexico; approximately 60 miles from Santa Fe. Most major airlines
fly into Albuquerque. There is also a very small airport in Santa Fe
that is served by Aspen Air from Dallas (1-800-877-3932) and United
Express from Denver (1-800-241-6522). It is always more expensive to
fly into Santa Fe rather than Albquerque. Please take advantage of
the lowest coach fares available to you.
-
For those of you who are on a Southwest Airlines route, Southwest is
offering a 10% discount on most of its fares for travel to and from SFI.
Call (or have your travel agent call) the Southwest Airlines Group and
Meeting Desk at 1-800-433-5368 and refer to identifier code EO468 to
take advantage of this offer. Call right away as fares are subject to
terms and availability.
-
Ground: You can reach downtown Santa Fe from the Albuquerque
airport using a bus service called Shuttlejack which runs
approximately every two hours. The cost is $20 each way and
reservations are required. Call (505) 982-4311 for reservations and
information. The Shuttlejack stops at the Villas de Santa Fe. For
transportation from the Santa Fe airport to the hotel, call the Road
Runner Shuttle at (505) 424-3367.
-
Car rental is available at the Albuquerque and Santa Fe airports and
in downtown Santa Fe. To reserve a car, call Budget at 1-800-828-3438
and reference the Santa Fe Institute corporate account number T475500.
Please note that SFI will only reimburse $50 toward car rental.
FROM ALBUQUERQUE AIRPORT TO THE SUNTERRA
RESORTS/VILLAS DE SANTA FE, 400 GRIFFIN STREET:
- From the airport, take Sunport to I-25 North, the main highway to
Santa Fe. Travel approximately one hour on I-25 to the St. Francis Exit.
The exit turns left under the highway on to St. Francis Drive. Stay on
St. Francis to the second intersection of Paseo de Peralta at the
Nations Bank. Take a right. At the third light, Griffin Street, turn
left. The hotel is at the corner.
FROM VILLAS DE SANTA FE TO SFI, 1399 HYDE PARK ROAD:
- From the hotel, take a right on Griffin and a left on Paseo de
Peralta. Take a left at the second light which is Washington. Take the
second right on to Artist Road, which becomes Hyde Park Road. Drive 1.4
miles up the hill. After you pass the intersection of Gonazles Road on
the left, there are three boulders on the left side of the road and a
sign for Panorama Drive on the right. The Institute is the first paved
driveway on the left. Turn in and drive to the top of the hill to
reach the main building.
