Unexplained Helium Film Effect with Microwave Dielectric Resonators

Abstract

An abrupt change in the microwave resonant frequency of a dilectric crystal when covered by a liquid helium film is observed to be orders of magnitude larger than expected. Characteristics of this unexplained phenomenon are outlined.
