Using Zoom with seminar room (via 195) Logitech Group audio/video system

Documentation
CSC host is an Apple MacMini named pattern.csc.
Software is Zoom (zoom.us) for laptops, desktops, smart phones, and tablets.
Power up pattern.csc, if necessary.
Login to user "Channel CSC"
pw = csc.chaos
CSC’s Zoom Permanent Meeting ID (PMI): 4289160337

Host a CSC meeting:
-
1.Several options:
Start browser (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox), then click Resources tab and then click Start Zoom Channel.
OR, point browser to:
Login to zoom: crutchfield@ucdavis.edu; pw = <ask Jim>
OR, start Safari, click on tab “Z CSC”
It will say “Please wait …”
Instead hit the “sign in” link; login: crutchfield@ucdavis.edu;pw: <ask Jim>
OR, start Zoom app (on dock) and click “Start with video”.
This creates a meeting with the CSC PMI.
2. Invite participants: Click Invite at Zoom screen bottom, click Email.
Zoom will open a mail client (default is Mac) with the message:
Subject: Please join Zoom meeting in progress
You are invited to a Zoom meeting now.

Add recipients to the To: list and send mail.

Host a private meeting:
Start Zoom app (on dock) and create a meeting:
E.g., Click Start with video
These meetings have a unique random ID (not the CSC PMI).
The ID is given in the window’s name stripe.
Share the meeting ID with the participants.
For example, use the email message, described above, to invite participants.

Using Zoom to join existing CSC meeting (on your own device) ...
on the permanent CSC Zoom channel.
Point browser to:
OR, point browser to csc.ucdavis.edu => Complexity Sciences Center => Resources: Click Join Seminar.
OR, if someone has given you a Zoom meeting ID, start Zoom app and Join meeting.

As meeting host on pattern.csc, options:
With Zoom running, at bottom of Zoom window:
Audio:
o Select Microphone: Logitech Group Microphone
o Select Speaker: Logitech Group Speakerphone
Video:
o Select Logi Group Camera
o Select Video Settings, then 16:9 Widescreen and Enable HD
Use Camera Settings app (on dock) to control camera’s pan-tilt-zoom orientation.
Note the camera is mounted on east wall, north side, head level.
You can focus in on one or another whiteboard or zoom in on projected video to increase readability.
Use Widescreen for best view of room.
